Where to stay in Madrid
Where to stay in Madrid

Accommodation is now the most expensive part of a trip to Madrid. I won’t lie. The days of a cheap four-star hotel room (sub-100€) in the centro area are gone.
Yet with the ongoing issues around Airbnb and short-term rentals, and the flow-on effect these have on the community, I really do encourage you to stay in a hotel. Just be sure to book early to get the best price and consider a barrio outside of centro if prices are too high for your budget.
On a budget

- Hotel One Shot Prado: https://www.hoteloneshotprado23.com/en/

- Room Mate Alba: https://room-matehotels.com/es/alba/
It is worth staying out of the centre if you really need to save a buck. Try Retiro, Legazpi and Charmartin for hotel deals.
- EasyJet’s hotel ‘EasyHotel’ has opened near Avenida de America. While it’s not in the centre, it has great access to the whole of the city via metro.
- Hotel Claridge, Voco Madrid Retiro and Crowne Plaza Centre Retiro are good options to the east of the park.
Centro Hotel Options
Big hotel chains are still worth a look for deals.
- Vincci Soho in Barrio del Las Letras – Stayed here in 2021. A nice 4-star that feels like a 5-star.

Staying a couple of weeks or longer
While short-term rentals should be avoided, if you are staying a couple of weeks or more, they are the only real option for longer stays.
